Maverick Transportation announced Sonny "Cowboy" Purvis of Sand Springs, OK, as their Driver of the Month for March 2012. Purvis has been with Maverick almost 8 years and has been a professional truck driver for 25 years.

"Sonny is at the top of my fleet in fuel efficiency and miles," said Fleet Manager Harold Seymour. "He's a true professional that takes care of business, while helping fellow drivers."

The third recipient of twelve Drivers of the Month for 2012, Purvis has proven himself a leader in the company's fleet. He has been honored a 5 year safe driving ring and maintains one of the highest MPG averages on his fleet. He cites, "the family atmosphere, the equipment, and the home time," as his favorite aspects of driving for Maverick.

Every month Maverick recognizes a driver from the company's fleet who takes pride in his profession and the company, employs safety, and maintains Maverick standards in all they do.  Employees vote from the twelve Drivers of the Month and the Driver of the Year will be announced at the end of 2012.  As Driver of the Month, Purvis will also represent Maverick drivers on the prestigious Driver Advisory Council.
